Ian Maksin and Gariel Datcu Return Appearance
After their SOLD OUT performance at the Open Door Theater in October, two of Chicago's leading instrumentalists are back in Oak Park with another program! This time around Russian-born Ian Maksin and Romanian guitarist Gabriel Datcu will take the audience on another spectacular journey around the world: from Argentine milonga and Brazilian samba to American blues, funk and jazz classics,from tunes inspired by traditional Balkan music to flamenco Arabe. Maksin and Datcu play it all and they play it funky, blending together the soulful sound cello and electrifying guitar, cleverly trading off solo and accompaniment and creating a unique listening experience.
