Scout Anderson is the Chief of Police in a quiet, Midwest town. She may be young, but shes got a sharp mind and a steady hand. In Act I, a mysterious stranger comes to town and Scouts simple world becomes dangerously complicated. With the Defense Attorney breathing down her neck and a rag-tag team of police behind her, she soon uncovers the sinister truth. In Act II, Scouts circumstances have changed, and she attempts to separate the facts from the lies to solve the murder of a prominent businesswoman. As she sinks deeper into a case rife with jealousy, corruption and scandal, Scout must use all her wits to overcome her most challenging mystery yet. Adapted from two short stories by Hammett, this pulpy, modern take on the detective story is sure to keep you guessing until its thrilling conclusion.
