"Women, Politics and Murder"
Women, Politics and Murder
A Gender Swapped Theater Noir
Presented by Clock Theater

Clock Theater presents the world premiere of Women, Politics and Murder a gender swapped theatre noir adapted from the works of Dashiell Hammett.

Adapted by CJ Chapman and directed by Lesley Fisher Chapman, the works will be presented January 12-29 at The Buena. 4147 N. Broadway, Chicago, part of the Pride Arts Center.

Scout Anderson is the Chief of Police in a quiet, Midwest town. She may be young, but shes got a sharp mind and a steady hand. In Act I, a mysterious stranger comes to town and Scouts simple world becomes dangerously complicated. With the Defense Attorney breathing down her neck and a rag-tag team of police behind her, she soon uncovers the sinister truth. In Act II, Scouts circumstances have changed, and she attempts to separate the facts from the lies to solve the murder of a prominent businesswoman. As she sinks deeper into a case rife with jealousy, corruption and scandal, Scout must use all her wits to overcome her most challenging mystery yet. Adapted from two short stories by Hammett, this pulpy, modern take on the detective story is sure to keep you guessing until its thrilling conclusion.

The cast includes: Scout - Amanda Forman, Ensemble - Austin Cornett, Liam MacDougall, Brian Sprague, Meaghan Morris, Kate Robison and Gabrielle Perrea. Production crew includes: (Producer) David Denman, (Director) Lesley Fisher Chapman, (Adaptor) CJ Chapman, (Stage Manager) Stephanie Hawkins, (Lighting) Benjamin Dionysus, (Sound) Bob Boxer, (Costumes) Arin Mulvaney, and (Production Coordinator & Props) Amber Mandley.

Women, Politics and Murder will be presented January 12-29 with tickets at $15 and available at www.brownpapertickets.com/event/2714505. Performances are Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 8pm and Sundays at 3pm.
