A Reading of "Lardo" by Sydney Blake
Please join us on Thursday, December 8th, Friday, December 9th at 8pm, Saturday, December 10th at 8pm, or Sunday, December 11th at 3pm, Westchester Collaborative Theater (WCT) is presenting "Lardo", a reading of an original full-length romantic comedy about comedy and romance--takes place in the writers' room of a top-ten TV sitcom called LARDO, starring a horrible human being named Lardo. Sunday's performance will be followed by a talkback session with the playwright, director, and cast. The performances take place at: OAC Steamer Company Firehouse, 117, Main Street, 2nd Floor, Ossining, NY 10562.
The play is a romantic comedy about... well, comedy and romance--it takes place in the writers' room of a top 10 TV sitcom called LARDO, starring a horrible human being named Lardo. The head writer, burnt out from running the show, hires an enchanting, inexperienced female writer, against his better judgment. The show almost ends. The wrong people almost get together. And love almost loses out. Almost.
The ensemble of WCT actors who will perform includes: Jessica Carter, Tom Coppola, Christine Fonsale, Lucas Kane, Jim Leeper and Joe Albert Lima.
Playwright Sydney Blake is a former sitcom writer who worked on series such as Major Dad, Empty Nest, and Mamas Family.
Director Nathan Flower is a director, actor and choreographer who has worked OffBroadway, nationally and internationally. NY Performance credits include BAM, Judson Church, Classic Stage Company, the Culture Project.
This play was developed through WCT workshops, a theater laboratory for writers, actors, and directors.
