Con Tutti Concert - Darkness Flies Away
"Darkness Flies Away" Con Tutti celebrates the season in style this year with brass, giant puppets and, of course, joyous singing on December 3rd at 7:30 p.m. at the South Church in Portsmouth! This year 120 performers, directed by Joanne Connolly, sing an exciting range of inspired music from many lands; from French Carols to South African freedom songs, from English Pub songs to ancient Celtic story songs, from a haunting Galician carol to American shapenote and Southern Gospel. A grand highlight of this 2016 season will be the brass quintet, playing traditional carols while Con Tutti singers and audience alike sing favorite and familiar carols. The concert will take you into a celebration of the solstice, the darkest night of the year, and back out into the returning of the light!!
