MORE ABOUT COMEDY SUITCASE:
Comedy Suitcase is a Twin Cities based theatrical production company dedicated to creating live comedy for all ages. Founded in 2010 by Joshua English Scrimshaw and Levi Weinhagen, Comedy Suitcase strives to bridge the gap between imaginative theater for children and sophisticated comedy for adults. In the words of Groucho Marx: A child of five could understand this. Fetch me a child of five!
Joshua English Scrimshaw is co-founder of the all-ages theater company Comedy Suitcase, as well as the dance and physical comedy troupe English Scrimshaw Theatrical Novelties. Joshua has been called "a clever and inventive voice in Twin Cities comedy theater" by The Star Tribune, and "a modern day Buster Keaton" by mnartists.org. When not making theater, Joshua can be heard on a number of podcasts, including Ghoulish Delights old time radio podcast, The Mysterious Old Radio Listening Society and Maximum Verbositys speculative fiction podcast The Not So Silent Planet.
Levi Weinhagen is a writer, producer, performer, podcaster and educator. He co-founded the all-ages theater company Comedy Suitcase and has created four original shows that were in the top 10 of ticket sales at the Minnesota Fringe Festival. In 2012 Levi was named an Artist of the Year by City Pages. He hosts and produces a podcast about how artists make work and pay the bills called 'The Pratfalls podcast.' He was the first ever Artist in Residence for the Walker Art Centers Education and Family programs department in 2014-2015. Levi presents comedy workshops and interactive experiences with his Knight Arts grant award winning project the Mobile Comedy Suitcase. Hes also a teaching artist on the COMPAS roster. In late fall of 2016 Levi launched a new podcast called Not About You that is a serious yet entertaining look at social justice issues in America. Hes also a communications and media specialist at the Minnesota Council on Foundations. Twitter = @ThatLevi
