Keltic Reign and Mitzi MacDonald -- Laws Sisters opening
Keltic Reign has been 'Celtic with a Kick' in St. Louis since 2000, when two of the current band members were just young'uns. Now world-class players, Holly (fiddle and mandolin) and Ashby (accordion, piano, whistle, and bodhran) were mere babies when their mama, Mitzi MacDonald, started this seven-piece band. With Mitzi being born and raised in Nova Scotia, Keltic Reign has always had its heart in Scottish, Irish and East Coast Canadian music. The band plays festivals and outdoor concerts here locally, as well as many charity events and fundraisers. Twelve years ago, they started the very popular charity concert, Christmas in the Kitchen. It is held at the Sheldon Concert Hall and is based on a Cape Breton kitchen party; Mitzi actually brings her own kitchen table to the stage! Always happy to share their music and stories with the audience, they draw from an extensive repertoire, from sea shanties to beautiful ballads, including many originals. Holly and Ashby will be opening the show on their own as The Laws Sisters. Join us for the return of this great St. Louis band!
