Saxophobia
Saxophobia April 14, 2017 Davis Middle School, Evanston, Wyoming
Saxophobia brings to the stage a rare unique glimpse at some of the most unusual saxophones ever manufactured and the classic melodies that popularized this warmly embraced instrument. The show explores over a half century of jazz classics. Like baseball and apple pie, jazz is an American icon. Hear Rob Verdi perform popular jazz standards and whimsical novelty selections. Rob was featured playing his 6 1/2 foot tall contrabass sax on the soundtrack of Horton Hears A Who. He hopes to someday establish a musical instrument museum where visitors of all ages can see, hear, and even play some of his rare instruments. As a special treat, local band students will perform on stage with Rob during part of the program.
