Lisa Geduldig and El Rio Present... Comedy Returns to El Rio!
Comedy Returns to El Rio! is a popular monthly comedy show (every 3rd Thursday of the month) co-produced by Kung Pao Kosher Comedy's Lisa Geduldig and El Rio. The show, now in its 8th year, takes place at El Rio in San Francisco's Mission District and showcases an eclectic mix of intelligent, progressive comedians from the Bay Area and beyond.
This month features Milt Abel, Bob McIntyre, Cara Tramontano, Barry Fischer, and Lisa Geduldig (your hostess).
Milt Abel is a stand-up comedian with 35 years of experience. Starting in the heyday of the San Francisco comedy scene of the 1980's, Milt went on to headline comedy clubs throughout North America and cruise ships throughout the world. Bob McIntyre is a San Francisco based waiter, comic, and occasional actor who is currently binge watching his recently purchased 38-disc, 325-episode Mary Hartman Mary Hartman box set. He currently sees everything in shades of avocado green, mustard yellow and burnt orange with a waxy yellow buildup. He is single.
Cara Tramontanos comedy career started in the first grade, as a loudmouthed Italian-American New Yorker suddenly dropped onto a dusty playground in Tucson, Arizona. Now a habitant of downtown San Francisco, she has been featured in the SF Sketchfest comedy festival and has performed at Cobbs Comedy Club, SF Punchline, Rooster T. Feathers, the original Purple Onion and all over the SF Bay Area thanks to ZipCar. Cara will embark on a national comedy tour as soon as ZipPlane launches. Outside of performing stand up, comedy writing and producing comedy shows, her activities include tour guiding, coffeeing, and judging her fellow Muni bus passengers.
Barry Fischer is a Bay Area native who has elicited outbursts of laughter around the globe. He launched his stand up comedy career while living in a tiny country in the South Pacific called New Zealand, which went really well ... until he got voted off the island. Since then, his witty style has won over crowds on both the West and East Coasts. He has also performed with the Stanford Improvisers, competed in the Washington Improv Theatre's "Fighting Improv Smackdown Tournament," and has done birthday party magic for 3-year-olds who don't know any better.
