Hussie: A New York Love Story
In the solo show Hussie: A New York Love Story performer Debayani Kar explores a queer and cis South Asian woman's journey to self-love through sex positivity.
Her journey includes threesomes, sex parties, marriage and evencelibacy. Debi loves a captive audience, preferably out with friends, but a stage works, too.
She is a writer, performer and storytelling strategist who makes her home in Brooklyn, NY. Her family is originally from Bangladesh and India and she grew up in Knoxville, TN. Yes, she was once a brown girl with a Southern accent.
Debi has performed in multiple New York venues including with Yoni ki Raat in 2015 and 2016, Bodies, Borders, Boroughs and Belonging in 2015 and Tamasha Festival of South Asian Performing Arts in 2016.
A portion of ticket proceeds will go toward TGI Justice Project to support each persons right to determine their own way of organizing love, sex and gender.
