A Different Kind of Can Do - Supporting ex armed forces and their spouses in becoming entrepreneurs
Venue:Behind the Wall, Falkirk Date:24th November 2016 Time:9.30 to 12.30pm
There's nothing more lonely and isolating than starting your own business. It's even harder if you've left a network of friends, colleagues and support behind and have to create a new one.
Can Do Places and Spaces is organising one of its Enterprise Talk Oots to explore how this transition issue affects the ex-armed forces and their spouses. The Talk Oot will be held in Behind the Wall, Falkirk on Thursday 24 November from 9.30 to 12.30pm.
Armed Forces and their spouses are by nature very can do but starting a business brings a different set of obstacles and we would like to bring as many folk working in this area together to collaborate and help people clear this obstacle course.
We are delighted that Keith Brown MSP, Cabinet Secretary for the Economy, Jobs and Fair Work, will be attending and speaking and you are invited to attend.
So what's an Enterprise Talk Oot?
Well an enterprise Talk Oot is a specific format which brings people together to talk ideas through and then do something! We don't do circular discussions at Can Do Places and Spaces.
You can see past Talk Oots on our website - TalkOots
On 24th November we will hear from: Ex who started their own business Ex spouses who started their own business
A quick overview of some of the things happening
Our aim is simple. By bringing as many folk together we can share knowledge and expertise, identify how we can plug gaps and what would make clearing the obstacle course for ex armed forces and their spouses easier.
The focus is entirely from the user's - someone starting a business having left the forces -perspective. Our role is to make it easier.
Come along and join in our Talk Oot and help make a difference.
