Equity, Inclusivity, and Diversity - Improving our EE Practice in Sonoma County
The Sonoma Environmental Education Collaborative (SEEC) is delighted to partner with Youth Outside in this two part training designed to help improve your EE practice.
Explore the relationship between the concepts of relevancy, equity, inclusion, and diversity. Participants will discuss power and privilege and the ways in which they can leverage both in pursuit of increased equity and inclusion. We will practice identifying instances of implicit bias in curriculum and spend some time thinking about best practices for increased cultural relevancy in programming. On the second day, participants will hear from folks as they describe programs that embody best practices in reaching diverse audiences, and employing equitable practices to ensure everyone is heard.
This is a two-day workshop being held on Monday, January 9th, at Pepperwood Preserve and Monday, January 23rd, at the Laguna de Santa Rosa from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. Your registration is for both days. Organizations and agencies are asked to sign up as a group of no more than 4 individuals. Registration will be open until the event is full.
