Krampus at The Alpine Village
Krampus returns to THE ALPINE VILLAGE, southern Californias favorite make-believe Germany. If youve never been, the place is a sort of mash-up of German shopping center and storybook film set. Theres also a grand and oh-so-Bavarian ballroom, serving as venue for tonights show.
Tonight we welcome back KRAMMPSTEIN, a high-concept, hard-rocking hybrid of Germanys industrial-metal gods Rammstein with everyones favorite Alpine demon. Donning horns, masks, and pelts, the band led by Green Jellÿ alum Greg Reynard, tears through an apocalyptic set of Rammstein hits lyrically reworked to obsessively detail the child-beating lifestyle of the Krampus. Dazzling stage-show effects, infernal lighting, and Christmas cookies compliment the spectacle.
Strangely enough, Krammpstein is not the only band in the world mutating Krampus with rock and roll. Not so strangely, weve booked the second (and for all we know), only other mutation of this sort: MARILYN KRAMPSON. Expect the same sort grotesqueries and songs associated with Marilyn Manson but with that extra devilish dash of Krampus.
As if this werent enough to sate your Krampus-lust, you can expect to be thoroughly menaced and switch-smacked as costumed members of KRAMPUS LOS ANGELES swirl through the crowd dispensing punishments to good and bad alike.
Musically invoking the spirit of the Krampus, TALEA, takes the stage with their unique mix of ambient/electronic soundscapes, tribal percussion, ambient and abrasive guitar, along with spoken word and operatic vocals.
The show will be emceed by Alpine Village own FESTMEISTER HANS, host of the Villages own world-famous Oktoberfest.
German beer and other refreshments Alpine Steinhaus are available before and during the show. Those who last year experienced a log jam at the thanks to the unexpectedly large crowd can rest assured that these issues have been resolved, and Alpine Village is gearing up for whats become the largest show on their calendar. Given the large turnout anticipated, and large number of disappointed fans turned away last year, we highly recommend advance ticket purchase.
