Gilgamesh - A story concert performed by Iwan Kushka & guests.
Storyteller-musician Iwan Kushka returns to Hamilton House with extremely talented musical guests & the oldest story in the world: the epic of Gilgamesh.
Written in ancient Mesopotamia in the second millenium BC, Gilgamesh is extraordinarily modern in its emotional power as in the message it sends us through the ages. It tells us how the mighty king Gilgamesh - struck by grief and the fear of death - crossed the vast ocean, sailed to the rising sun, journeyed to the edge of the world in search of eternal life, and found Utnapishtim - the man who survived the Great Flood and was made immortal
Prepare for a poetic flight of truly epic proportions, interwoven with an original musical score by Becky Doe (viola), William Benzies (guitar) and James Watts (flutes).
The CoResist Collective is very excited to host the return of Iwan here in Bristol. His performances are always hugely popular so please book tickets well in advance!
