Pacific Voices Winter Concert 2016 - I Hear Music In The Air!
Open your heart to music of peace, joy and hope with I Hear Music In the Air, a seasonal concert by the Pacific Voices choir under the direction of acclaimed conductor Dr. Sean Boulware. Known for performances that underscore our shared human experience, the 65-member group will present a diverse program ranging from traditional carols (with a twist), works by contemporary composers, spirituals, and folk songs from Africa and Israel.
Beautiful harmony and poetic dissonance alike highlight themes of peace, joy, love, faith and hope in the program. Glow, by contemporary composer Eric Whitacre, transports us to a quiet, snowy morning, with all its possibilities. Lament for Pasiphae by distinguished composer Morten Lauridsen translate poems by Robert Graves into musical works of elemental emotional power. Music Down in My Soul by Moses Hogan rocks and rollicks its message of joy and hope. The Tanzanian folk song Jenga Imani Yako speaks to the importance of faith, community and perseverance.
Music will be in the air--and in our hearts and souls--on December 17 and 18. Be sure to join Pacific Voices for a musical experience that will bring love, joy and hope to you this holiday season.
