Featuring Roy Forbes Lydia Hol Oliver Swain & Shari Ulrich (host)

OLIVER SWAIN was only kid in school who claimed Robert Johnson as his favourite musician, in a time when grunge rock was on top. After a stint with The Bills back when they were known as the Bill Hilly Band in Victoria, he moved to Winnipeg to join Scruj MacDuhk (later The Duhks). In Winnipeg he formed a trio with fiddler Jeremy Penner and singer Ruth Moody, and made a series of pilgrimages to the Appalachians that solidified his love for traditional southern folk music. After moving to Louisiana to perform with the Red Stick Ramblers for a year, Swain then decided to bring the music back home to Victoria, where he helped form popular folk group Outlaw Social, releasing two critically acclaimed albums, and touring extensively for several years. Since Outlaw Socials demise, Oliver has invested the last several years in playing solo shows across Canada, and finally releasing his solo debut, In A Big Machine. He is a two time Prairie Music Award recipient with The Bills, and shared a 2008 WCMA nomination for Outstanding Roots Group with Outlaw Social.
SHARI ULRICH grew up in the San Francisco Bay area, and immigrated to Canada in 1972. Shortly after, she discovered music and joined up with Joe Mock & Rick Scott to form the quirky Pied Pumkin. In 1976 she joined Valdy's back-up band, which went on to become the Juno Award-winning Hometown Band. Her subsequent solo career also marked the beginning of her life as a songwriter, winning her another Juno Award in 1981 and a SOCAN award for She Remembers. Over the years Shari has also expanded into television hosting, songwriting education, and composing for film and television. Everywhere I Go, Sharis eighth solo album (and 21st including her work with UHF, BTU and the High Bar Gang), garnered her the 2014 CFMA Songwriter of the Year award. She has been producing Bluebird North in Vancouver since 1996. www.shariulrich.com
