Cantabile Singers
The Estes Park Music Festival and the Cantabile Singers invite you to join us for our Winter Series opening concert on November 6, Choral Heritage of the United States.
Cantabile brings you a performance that looks back on the culture and traditions of the United States through its choral music history. The repertoire will span our country's choral heritage, and includes William Billings' 1770 patriotic anthem Chester, choral music composed from and inspired by Native North American traditions, and arrangements of numerous folk songs and spirituals that highlight the cultural diversity of our country's population. Welcome Brian Stone, Music Director!
Cantabile is pleased to present its debut concert with new Music Director, Brian Stone. Brian arrived in Colorado by way of the Pacific Northwest in 2008 to attend graduate school at CU Boulder. This fall, he began his Doctor of Musical Arts degree in choral conducting and literature at CU Boulder. Brian is active as a professional singer, appearing with St. Martins Chamber Choir, the Evans Choir, and the newly formed Anima Chamber Ensemble, an elite 13-voice ensemble. As a director, Brian leads the CU Vocal Jazz ensembles, the CU Collegiate Chorale, and serves as the Choir Director at First Unitarian Society of Denver.
Please join us for our opening concert of the 2016-2017 Winter Series. Enjoy a musical snapshot of the United States choral heritage.
