Join us for a very special evening with Steven Johnson, who will lead us on an exploration of how pursuits born from wonder and delight have led to essential breakthroughs in computing, communication and connecting the world.
Come answer questions you didn't even know you had:
-Why is advanced engineering often originally devoted for toys? -What does a movie star have to do with naval communication? -How did eighteenth century magic shows pave the way for our obsession with Kim Kardashian? -How do Doritos exemplify the origins of the global marketplace? -What did Darwin learn from Jenny, an orangutan at one of the first zoos in Europe?
The founder of a variety of influential websites, Johnson is the host and co-creator of the PBS and BBC series "How We Got to Now," and the host of the podcast "Wonderland."
Kara Platoni is an award-winning science journalist and the author of We Have the Technology.
