Massachusetts native Borges has learned to dazzle and do it well and tonight marks the second night of two dazzling nights here at The Lizard Lounge!
Change is something that takes a little getting used to. If you need proof of this, ask the soulful singer-songwriter Sarah Borges. After a long and successful stint with her band, The Broken Singles, 2011 marked the bands breakup and Sarah embarking on a solo career. Whether it be through performances or her writing, Massachusetts native Borges has learned to dazzle and do it well. That ability can be heard all over her 2014 Radio Sweetheart album, as well as her upcoming follow-up, Good and Dirty EP, due March 4th 2016. She attributes that ability to a very eclectic sound, which she comes by naturally, she says, I would say that my sound is straight up rock and roll, but its the sum total of what my record collection looks like. The new record is certainly more Americana than the last record was. Its also more rock than the last record. I would say that its a version of the live shows a lot of loud guitars and loud singing. You can certainly dance to it.
Amy Fairchild is a multi-award winning songwriter living in Boston, MA. Right from the start of her musical career in Northampton, MA in 1996, this roots-pop beauty garnered high honors revealing a talented songwriter who deftly gets to the heart of the matter. She won the Lilith Fair Talent Competition in 1999 and took home a top Kerrville Folk Festival prize in 2001. She continued to bring home honors after the release of her 2002 record, "Mr. Heart" including The John Lennon Songwriting Competition, Maxell Song of the Year and the Billboard World Song Competition. Dave Marsh of Rolling Stone said, If there still was a recording industry, this would come out on a major label and would be such a big hit youd be sick of her by now. Not many people make records this good. In June 2014 she released her self-titled third record to the acclaim of the best music writers in Boston including the legendary Steve Morse. With 3 videos in support of the record worthy of the best airplay from the MTV days, Amy shows no signs of taking her foot off the gas as she's back in the studio working on new material. Look for a new release in 2016!
