James Faifua and the Jukes
JAMES FAIFUA AND THE JUKES are a five piece band dedicated to playing progressive urban blues, infused with jazz and funk. Their repertoire includes tunes by such greats as; Little Walter Jacobs, Muddy Waters, Willie Dixon, Sonny Boy Williamson, and Magic Sam. It also includes pieces written by: Jimmy Smith, Nat Adderly, Junior Walker and the All Stars, the Meters, and original compositions. All of this lends itself to a most enjoyable listening and dancing experience.
James Faifua Vocals/Harmonica James first gig was at the Avalon Ballroom. He went on to perform in L.A. with Big Mama Thornton. After two years in the Detroit area, he returned to San Francisco in 1971, performing with such Bay Area blues legends as; Francis Clay, Luther Tucker, Troyce Keyes, and Mississippi Johnny Waters.
