Roar of the Robots FIRST LEGO League Jr. Expo
The Robo-Lions FIRST Robotics Competition Team 2199 and PIE^3 are hosting an official Maryland FIRST LEGO League Junior Expo at St. John's Catholic Church in Westminster on Saturday, January 14th, 2017. This Expo will be in conjunction with the "Roar of the Robots" FIRST LEGO League tournament at the same location.
This is a rescheduled event that was originally planned for Dec. 17 at Oklahoma Road Middle School. If your team registered for the Oklahoma Road event, your registration has been automatically carried to this Jan. 14 Expo.
Expo Schedule: 9:30-10:00pm FLL Jr. teams arrive, check in at registration desk, set up displays 9:45-10:00am Coaches' meeting (one coach per team, please) 10:00-11:30am FLL Jr. Expo is open to the public, viewing and official Reviewing 11:30-11:40pm FLL Jr.teams prepare for celebration/closing ceremony 11:40-12:00pm FLL Jr. Expo celebration/closing ceremony 12:00-12:30pm FLL Jr. teams take down displays and clean up their display area
The Robo-Lions and PIE3 are pleased to offer this chance for FIRST LEGO League Jr. teams to share their ideas and inventions with other teams and the community! We look forward to each team teaching us all about new ways to think when it comes to animals and their environment! In a friendly upbeat environment, each team can present their project that they have worked so hard in completing!
This official FIRST LEGO League Expo Junior is offered through STEMaction, Inc., the FLL Jr. Affiliate Partner for Maryland. STEMaction delivers exciting science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) activities to K-12 students and builds a local community of support for the programs and participants. Notes: (1) The FIRST LEGO League Jr. program requires that all teams registering for an official FLL Jr. Expo are registered as an official team for the current season with FIRST. In addition, all team members participating in the Expo must be signed up online with the team through the FIRST TIMS system, with a completed electronic consent form.
(2) Official Expos require a minimum of 5 FLL Jr. teams to participate. In the event that fewer than 5 FLL Jr. teams register for this Expo, we will work with the teams that have registered to determine whether to change the Expo to an Exhibition (not an official Expo) or to shift teams to a different Expo.
(3) The Expo registration fee must be paid via Credit Card through the Brown Paper Ticket service. A processing fee (less than $2) is added to the base registration cost creating the final registration cost to each team. If you do not have a credit card to use to register your team, please contact STEMaction directly for assistance in completing your registration. Do not call Brown Paper Ticket for this purpose.
