Diamond Hill Station
Since 2003, Diamond Hill Station has been setting the trend for hard driving, up tempo bluegrass music in the Midwest. Since their beginning as a "garage" band, they have shared the stage with bluegrass greats such as Rhonda Vincent, Kenny & Amanda Smith, the Lewis Family, the Grascals, Special Consensus and the Lost & Found, and they have performed at the world's longest running bluegrass festival, Bill Monroe's Bean Blossom.
DHS was formed by guitarist Michael White, banjo player Kevin Davis and bassist Lloyd Shonk, who formed the group's core for the first six years of its existence. Mandolinist Dave Bagdade joined DHS in the fall of 2008, bringing new energy and songwriting ability to the group. DHS recorded a number of its live shows in 2008 and 2009, and these efforts resulted in "Live Bootleg," a collection of songs taken from these performances, including a number of band originals. In the fall of 2009, Kevin decided to take a job in Georgia, and the band went on hiatus until the summer of 2009. Two years later, joined by new banjo player Bruce Anderson, DHS was ready to put the throttle to the floor again.
After reforming, DHS quickly got its momentum back, performing a number of excellent shows and then being invited as one of two American bands to appear the the European World of Bluegrass festival in the Netherlands. The band is now working on its new studio album, which will contain all original material.
In addition to performing at festivals throughout the Midwest, Diamond Hill Station has released four albums and a single nationally, and they received international airplay from their first album, with the single "California Cotton Fields." Diamond Hill Station has also performed on live television and radio and performs yearly fan appreciation concerts to thank all their loyal friends and fans.
Diamond Hill Station's high energy performances, great musicianship, and creative vocal harmonies make a Diamond Hill Station performance one that will not be forgotten. Diamond Hill Station is hard-driving bluegrass combining a respect for tradition with a modern edge!
