Eye on Artist: Patty Rogers
Join us for a talk by artist Patty Rogers on influences that inspire her work, methods and materials. Reception with light food and drink will follow.
"I think of papers as sustainable materials, both ancient and new. Using a variety of papers, I build my ideas and surfaces with paper collage. I then sketch my ideas onto the collage with conte crayon and use acrylic paint and printingmaking techniques to build transparency and opacity. The surfaces feel tactile and textural, and ideas small and large are discoverable in the surface."
Patty's solo exhibition, Joys Within Reach, explores her current mixed-media collage work and is on view in the John Kenyon Ellis Bistro through February 5, 2017.
