Small Business Lunch at Halls
The King Street Marketing Group and Halls Chophouse are pleased to welcome Mac Burdette, Executive Director of Patriot's Point, Thursday, November 3 at noon for our monthly Small Business Lunch at Halls. Since opening, Patriots Point has become one of the state's most popular tourist attractions with more than 270,000 visitors each year.

Mac Burdette is responsible for the operation and management of the Patriots Point Naval and  Maritime Museum and for the development of almost 400 acres of property on the Charleston Harbor.

Patriots Point Development Authority was established in the 1970s to develop a naval and maritime museum on Charleston Harbor with the World War II aircraft carrier, USS YORKTOWN as its centerpiece.

Its also home to the Patriots Point Museum and a fleet of National Historic Landmark ships, the Cold War Memorial and the only Vietnam Experience Exhibit in the U.S., the Congressional Medal of Honor Society, and the agency's official Medal of Honor Museum.

Patriots Point strives to preserve the living history of our nation's bravest men and women while telling their stories in honorable, educational and engaging ways.

Before assuming the duties of executive director at Patriots Point in 2010, Burdette served for 25 years as the city administrator for the Town of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina.

He received both his undergraduate and graduate degrees from Clemson University. He retired from the U.S. Army Reserves as a colonel in 2003. During the Persian Gulf War, he served in Southwest Asia.

A native of Simpsonville, South Carolina, he and his wife, Ann, currently reside in Mount Pleasant.

Each month, Small Business Lunch at Halls features a distinguished speaker from the business, civic or political arenas upstairs at Halls Chophouse with an imaginative three-course meal prepared by Executive Chef Adam Jakins.

Tickets are $31 per person plus tax and processing fee for the luncheon. Doors open at 11:45 a.m. and lunch is served promptly at noon. Limited seating provides an intimate experience with each speaker.

Halls Chophouse is located at 434 King Street in downtown Charleston. Convenient parking is available at the Visitors Center Garage on Ann Street between King and Meeting Streets.
