POETS OF THE CARIBBEAN: ETCHED IN BONE Spoken Word Poetry and music with a Caribbean flare Creator: Jessie James Ziglar
SYNOPSIS: 'Poets of the Caribbean: Etched in Bone' is effectively the fourth installment in the ongoing series created to celebrate both spoken word and music. What first found inspiration on the steps of a rental house in Takoma Park, MD (a stones throw from the D.C. diamond boundary line) and later transitioned to a commercial greenhouse in rural Virginia, is making its western US debut in 'The Biggest Little City in the World'. Using the power of the individual voice to benefit the collective, creating a place to touch stage and hearts, and sustaining a venue to be heard and belong have all been fundamental goals of these poets and musicians. Adding the Caribbean flare and mindset allows for the space and time to entertain the extremes and meet in the middle. In proud collaboration with Reno's own Spoken Views Collective and The Bruka Theater, Poets of the Caribbean will create craft, present movement, and inspire flow. Enjoy!
