Hilton Park and Braiden Sunshine perform at Friday Night Folk November 18
Friday Night Folk is pleased to announce a double bill of hometown proportions. Native Mainers Hilton Park have been described as the folks next door who happen to be virtuoso musicians, and The Voice semi-finalist Braiden Sunshine will bring his prodigious talent to his hometown audience.
A father, a son and a family friend who started writing and performing their music together just for fun, have become the band the Boston Examiner sat has reinvented acoustic.
Award winning Acoustic Roots trio Hilton Park share their unique blend of timeless tales and soulful Blood Harmony with audiences young and old. In 2015, the band was honored with the New England Music Award for Best in State: Maine, and two Roots Act of the Year nominations. With their new CD, Moments, along with their varied instrumentation, stylish and confident 3-part vocal harmonies fill the repertoire, combining the blood harmony only heard in family acts (from the Everly Brothers to the Avett Brothers) with melodic skills often compared to Crosby, Stills and Nash.
Hailing from Southern Maine, Hilton Park is known in the Northeast for earthy, emotionally expressive and superbly crafted Americana, Folk & Blues. The Hilton Park sound is authentic and endearingly classic, with enough modern grit to captivate todays audience.
Opening for Hilton Park is Old Lyme resident Braiden Sunshine. 2015 fan favorite and semi-finalist on NBCs The Voice, Braiden Sunshine is not new to the spotlight. Braiden got his start in music at a very young age. At five years old Braiden began singing in his church choir before quickly moving on to join forces with other like-minded/talented musicians in the band Madison Red,releasing their self-titled debut in 2012.
Over the next few years Braiden continued his passion for music as he embarked out on his own solo path playing up and down the east coast and opening for national artists such as Huey Lewis and The Blues Traveler and capturing the hearts and ears of a much larger audience.
As the summer of 2015 drew to a close, Braiden was finishing up in the studio when he received the call to audition for NBCs The Voice. He went on to compete all the way to the semi-finals that season. His young and innocent charm quickly snatched the support of the judges and garnered national attention and winning the hearts of fans all across the country.
After The Voice, with an army of young fans behind him, Braiden began work on a new album in early 2016. Braiden has released his first three songs digitally with great reaction from his followers and fans on YouTube and hitting #43 on iTunes with his single Reality.
