Savage Republic, The Ink Bats
Rising from the Los Angeles underground of the 1980s, SAVAGE REPUBLIC forged an astonishing reputation by virtue of five mesmerizing studio albums and a string of legendary live performances. Forever shifting, their brand of ritualistically tribal exhibitions blurred the boundaries of postpunk, industrial and soundtrack music, incorporating minimalist bass rumbles, ferocious rhythms, exotic metal percussion, primal chants, middle eastern melodies and even shards of surf guitar. Add to this iconic letterpress graphics by founder member Bruce Licher, and Savage Republic stack up as one of the most exciting and potent experimental groups to emerge at any time or place during the last three decades.
The new full length album 'Aegean' was released in 2014 with a new vinyl release scheduled for late 2015.

THE INK BATS are a post-punk/psych/goth-influenced band based in Oakland, California.
Together, musically and energetically, The Ink Bats are an alchemic amalgamation of their diverse influences. In their songs you'll here their immense reverence for psychedelic/garage sounds of the 60's, such as the 13th Floor Elevators, Love, and The Folklords; their uninhibited enthusiasm for the unorthodox edginess of post-punk bands of the late 70's and early 80's, such as Wire and early Siouxsie and the Banshees; and their boundless affection for new wave, goth, and classic death rock, like Kate Bush, Killing Joke, and Love and Rockets.
The Ink Bats think you should buy them a victorian mansion to live and record music in. Hey, never hurts to ask.
