"...bracing, electronically tweaked jazz..." Los Angeles Times, Oct. 2, 2011
Members: Warren Walker: Saxophone/FX Gael Petrina: Bass/FX Caleb Dollister: Drums
The Kandinsky Effect proudly returns to Fresno on their PSYCHE! Tour 2012 of the US. Last year audiences were mesmerized by the infectious combination of mixed-meter drum & bass rhythms and effects-driven bass and saxophone colors.
Don't miss this very special creative music event!
The Kandinsky Effect is a post-modern jazz trio searching for new ways to improvise within the jazz idiom by blending the borders of jazz, rock, electronica, hip-hop, and experimental sounds to create a truly singular voice within instrumental music. Improvisation is ever-present, and spontaneity is paramount. The band has been touring extensively throughout the U.S., Canada, and Europe over the last few years building new audiences with an adventurous yet accessible sound and a flair for the unexpected.
The Kandinsky Effect appeared last October at the 2011 Angel City Jazz Festival, in Los Angeles, CA - the regions' premier world music and cutting-edge creative music event. The Kandinsky Effect has signed with Cuneiform Records to release their 2nd CD, recorded in Reykjavik, Iceland, mixed by Sam Minaie and mastered by Nate Wood.
The L.A. Times called their music "...bracing, electronically tweaked jazz..."
