James Moors (vocals, guitars, ukulele, mandolin and Irish bouzouki, based in Superior WI) and Kort McCumber (vocals, keys, cello, guitars, Irish tenor banjo, Irish bouzouki, fiddle, mandolin, accordion, harmonica, upright and electric bass, based in Gold Hill CO) grew up in different places and listening to different kinds of music classical, rock, bluegrass, you name it. But when they met ten years ago they knew theyd found something golden. Since then, theyve been cultivating their wide-ranging musical influences in songs that delve into love and life through haunting lyrics, soaring harmonies, and dazzling instrumental proficiency.
Moors and McCumber create that rare chemistry that happens when two gifted singer- songwriters and multi-instrumentalists perfectly complement each others strengths, a modern day version of Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young.
E.May - the moniker for multidisciplinary artist Erika May - opens the show. As a songwriter, E.May's style defies traditional boundaries, drawing on genres as diverse as Americana, Doom-Metal, Turkish Folk, and Mississippi Blues. Her music explores the wildness of nature both the great outdoors and the vast expanse of wilderness in the human heart.
