SOPHIA PERLMAN LIVE AT THE FLYING BEAVER PUBARET!
THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 13th - 7:30pm
SOPHIA PERLMAN

The second Thursday of every month bassist Rosemary Galloway presents a different jazz vocalist to grace the stage of The Pubaret.

This month Rosemary features vocalist Sopia Perlman.  Rounding out the trio are Rosemary Galloway on bass and Adrean Farrugia on keys.

ABOUT SOPHIA PERLMAN: (Vocals)
Sophia has made a name for herself as one of Canada's most promising young vocalists. Her musical maturity and impressive ability as an improviser has made her a first call not only as a bandleader but also as a frequent guest with many of Toronto's top musicians and ensembles including Richard Underhill, The Bob Brough Quartet, Richard Whiteman, The Toronto Jazz Orchestra, The Darcy Hepner Jazz Orchestra, Ravi Naimpally, The Toronto Rhythm Initiative, and the late Jeff Healey.  Since 2005, she has held a Monday night residency at Toronto's Reservoir Lounge with The Vipers, whose self-titled, second album was released in November of 2011, and has been widely played on JazzFM, and CBC.

ABOUT ROSEMARY GALLOWAY: (Bass)
Bassist Rosemary Galloway has composed for and recorded with her own groups The Swing Sisters, The Rosemary Galloway Quartet and Jim Galloway's Wee Big Band. Her most recent release is with the Jane Fair/ Rosemary Galloway Quintet, featuring original compositions on their new CD "Playin' Jane". She performs the second thursday of every month at The Pubaret with a trio featuring a different guest vocalist.

ABOUT ADREAN FARRUGIA: (Keys)
Adrean is currently pianist for such diverse projects as the Matt Dusk Band, the Brad Goode Quartet, The Ernesto Cervini Quartet (featuring saxophonist Joel Frahm), Tim Shia's 'The Worst Pop Band Ever', the Bob Brough Quartet and the Darcy Hepner Big Band. Adrean also works regularly with his wife and vocalist Sophia Perlman.
