Writing the Query Letter and the Synopsis
Whether you're writing a novel or a screenplay, unless you're self-publishing or making your own movie, you have to pitch your project to agents, producers or publishers. This requires a concise, engaging query letter and often a synopsis of several pages. Many writers get stuck at this stage, finding it impossible to boil down their masterpiece to just a few paragraphs or pages. This class will show you how.

About the Instructor:
A lifelong resident of Maryland, Jami Deise moved to St. Petersburg in 2012 with her husband Tom, son Alex, and dog Lady. A baseball mom for over 10 years, she self-published Keeping Score, about a divorced mom whose 9-year-old son starts playing select baseball, in 2013. In 2015, Evernight Publishing released her urban fantasy The Ties that Bleed, about a vampire assassin working for the FBI. Before turning to novels, Jami wrote several screenplays that were recognized in major contests, including Nicholl, Austin, Screamfest, Page, Shriekfest, Story Pros, and more. In addition, Jami participated in ABC Daytimes Writer Development Program. Jami is an associate reviewer atwww.chicklitcentral.com, a generalist reader and editor for the NYC-based The Bent Agency, and a copy editor for Kensington Books. She tweets at @JamiDeise and blogs atwww.jamideise.blogspot.com. Jami has participated in Eckerd Colleges Writers in Paradise several times, and runs a Fridayafternoon writers group downtown. She is also a Realtor with Century 21 Beggins Enterprises on St. Pete Beach.
