The Nutcracker presented by South Valley Dance Arts
The Nutcracker, one of the worlds most beloved and well-known ballets, traditionally opens with a grand Christmas party at the home of Clara Stahlbaum, where she receives the Nutcracker doll from her godfather, the esteemed toy maker Herr Drosselmeyer. In this years production, SVDA has included among the party guests, recognizable names such as engineer and inventor Nikolai Tesla, pioneering scientist Marie Curie, Sherlock Holmes creator Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, French fashion designer Coco Chanel, children's books author Beatrix Potter, Russian writer Leo Tolstoy, and Anne of Green Gables author Lucy Maud (L.M.) Montgomery, bringing history and literary luminaries to life in this magical dance.
