CASI Quebec Speaker Series 2016: C Series Flight Testing

************* Description:
In the development and certification of an aircraft, such as the all-new C Series, a successful flight test program plays a critical role. Part 1 of this talk, given by Jeff Kirdeikis, will focus on the planning, challenges and highlights of the C Series flight test program and Part 2, given by Mark Metivet, will focus on the CS300 First Flight and the preparation that led to this unique event at the end of February 2015.
The presentations will go behind the scenes of a flight test program and cover the following:

Jeff Kirdeikis Chief, Flight Test Team Operations, C Series Program Bombardier Commercial Aircraft
Jeff Kirdeikis has over 25 years of experience in the flight testing of transport category aircraft. He joined Bombardier in 1990 initially as an Aircraft Performance Engineer and moved to the Flight Operations group as a Flight Test Engineer in 2004. He has participated in either or both of the development and flight test execution phases of a number of Bombardier aircraft programs, including the Global Express, Challenger 300, CRJ1000 and the C Series, as well as some missioned aircraft modification programs. Over these programs he has accumulated approximately 1500 flight hours in test operations. He was appointed as the Chief, Flight Test Team Operations, C Series Program in 2013 with responsibilities that included overall schedule planning for all of the flight test vehicles used in the C S100 and C S300 flight test programs.
Mark Metivet Flight Test Engineer, C Series Program Bombardier Commercial Aircraft
Mark Metivet has over 15 years of experience in the aerospace industry. Since joining Bombardier in 2009, he was involved in the Engineering Design of the C Series aircraft, in Aircraft Performance, and then as a Flight Test Engineer on the C Series program. Before joining Bombardier, Mark has been with Airbus for 8 years as an Aircraft Performance Engineer. He was involved in the Airbus A340-500 and 600 Flight Test programs and in the A350 overall Aircraft Development. Mark has a Masters in Mechanical Engineering with a Major in Aerospace from Ecole Centrale in Lyon, France.
