Autris Paige, Baritone/W. Hazaiah Williams Memorial Concert
This concert is free of charge as a gift to the community. Tickets are required. This annual W. Hazaiah Williams Memorial Concert features the celebration of the 150th anniversary of the Emancipation Proclamation and is about the African American's journey from slave to U.S. citizen. The story is accompanied by Spirituals, hymns and protest songs of the Civil Rights Movement. The Rev. Dr. W. Hazaiah Williams was the first African-American impresario of a major classical music concert series in this country. He was founder of Four Seasons and Today's Artists Concerts, and was involved in civil rights causes throughout his life. Through this annual concert, we remember and honor Dr. Williams' contributions to our local community and to our world.
