Dinner With Friends
The Beautiful Bonus.
A portion of every ticket sold and every donation to our IndieGogo Campaign (www.indiegogo.com/DinnerWithFriends) will go to support the Babz Chula Lifeline for Artists Society. Babz Chula was a very close friend of Ben Ratner (in our cast as Tom) and her name is warm and familiar to many. Babz was an amazing woman, an incredibly talented actress and a pillar of strength for countless people in the acting community and beyond. During her battle with cancer, Ben and a couple more of Babz' closest actor friends banded together and founded a society in her name to help her with the expenses of alternative treatment. When she passed away, the society grew to support other financially struggling artists in need of medical support. Babz was laid to rest in May of 2010, but her name lives on and her society has made a huge difference in the lives of people around us - a difference that we wholeheartedly support. In the words of Babz herself, "We all deserve to be cradled in loving kindness".

Dinner With Friends.
Donald Margulies has said that, like his other works, he wrote Dinner With Friends "to reflect observations I'm having at that time in my life ... All around us, relationships are changing... It's those notions of impermanence, the yearning for something else that I'm tapping into.'' Dinner With Friends has touched audiences around the world for simple reasons: the characters are real. They are normal. They are exactly like us. The play begins in present day over a luxurious Italian dinner, takes us back in time to newer days of infatuation, and then returns to the present, all while exploring the varying tones of the relationships of two couples.
About Dirty Manhattan.
The Dirty Manhattan Equity Co-op was formed in 2010 by a group of professional actors and crew who came together to bring entertaining theatre to Vancouver audiences.
With a focus on contemporary plays by New York playwrights, Dirty Manhattan first produced Kenneth Lonergan's 'Lobby Hero' to sold out audiences at the Havana Theatre in 2010, and is now very excited about our current production of Dinner With Friends.
We can't wait to see you there!
