Celebrating Success: Members Taking Steps toward Sustainability
Oregon Natural Step Network Breakfast
In keeping with the season of celebration, we will highlight the success of two Network members who will share their organization's accomplishments in integrating sustainable practices. Their examples offer lessons and ideas for those working towards sustainability.
Nancy Stueber is the president of the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry (OMSI), and has served in this capacity since 2000. She has led the development of the organization's strategic plan and focused the organization on performance measures. She advocates a sustainable business model that measures effectiveness to a "triple-bottom-line," considering financial, social, and environmental impacts of business decisions.
Grant Watkinson is President and Co-owner of Coastwide Laboratories and Rick Woodward is the Director of Corporate Sustainability. Coastwide sits on both the Steering Committee and Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) for the EPA's Design for the Environment Green Formulation Initiative (GFI) for Cleaning Products. In 2003, Coastwide earned the BEST (Businesses for an Environmentally Sustainable Tomorrow) award for Product Innovation on their Sustainable Earth® product line. The product line has also earned the US EPA Design for Environment approval and Green Seal certification.
