Workshop: Creating Characters in the Moment w/ GIRLish Chicago
Saturday, November 12th 11:30am-1:30pm (2 hours) The Pilates Studio in Hadley, MA ***This is an Intermediate Workshop. Prerequisite: completion of Zen 2***
Improv scenes are about relationships and the characters in them. Learn to create distinct characters through physical commitment, emotional life, and environmental discoveries. Explore the ways to reveal character relationships without using heavy-handed initiations. Improvisers of all levels will be guided through short and long-form improvisational exercises to engage their sense of play and discovery. This workshop will use your sense of play & imagination, and techniques to set you free from the limitations that keep you from making bold character moves. Getting into the head of a character will keep you out of yours on stage.
Workshop participants can look forward to individual feedback & a chance to demonstrate what theyve learned in structured performance time throughout the workshop.
