Bear Tread | The Edge of the West
Bear Tread featuring Dave Hebert of JGB and Gent Treadly of Vince Welnick & DSO. They will be joined by Richard LaPreziosa(The Miracle Show, Eyes Anonymous and Triple Junction) and RobAlbaugh (The Miracle Show, Super Tunes) of HumboldtCounty, CA. Guitarist-singer Dave Hebert (AKA ABear), is originally a native of Manitou Springs, Colorado. Dave has spent his musical career in many genres, including rock, reggae, folk, blues, and bluegrass.Right out of college, he toured nationally with mentor and close family friend reggae recording artist John Bayley. Dave is a founding member of Brother Kind, who opened for Merl Saunders and David Grisman at Red Rocks (7/7/97). The group still reunites every so often in Colorado. Currently a resident of Denver, Colorado, Dave relentlessly works on his many different musical projects. When not touring withMelvin Seals and JGB,he performs with many original bands of his own creation such as Working Mans Grass, a bluegrass Dead band; he also plays solo acoustic gigs throughout the Southwest; and finally, Dave plays lead guitar and vocals for Xtra Ticket, Arizonas premier Grateful Dead band. Versatility is his trademark. Whether it's his own songs or songs from the Grateful Dead and Jerry Garcia Band catalog, Dave not only captures the feel of songs, he often takes the musical risk of breathing new life into an old familiar tune and puts the ABear signature on it. That's the adventure and this is his journey. Gent Treadly has gone down countless roads and stormed the gates of heaven during its 20 years as a band. Having toured with the late great Vince Welnick of The Grateful Dead for many years,Gent Treadlycontinues to carry the flame - a diehard acolyte in search of the ultimate groove.Since its inception in 1994Gent Treadlyhas been a movable feast of some of the finest players in NYC. Founded by bassist Greg Koerner, a veteran of countless New York bands and a "phil-in" for the Dark Star Orchestra, Gent Treadly has featured a veritable cornucopia of rock and jamband luminaries such as Grateful Dead keyboardists Vince Welnick &Tom Constanten,Charles Nevilleof the Neville Brothers Band,Garth Hudsonof The Band,Buddy Cageof The New Riders of the Purple Sage and Bob Dylan, as well as Ratdog'sKenny Brooks.
Edge of the West is a Rock n' Roots Honky Tonk Jamband. Their catchy, quirky originals and outlaw hippie sound strikes a chord with lovers of alt-country, Americana & the Grateful Dead. The live shows are a blast. The group writes original tunes and draws from from a deep well of eclectic covers, never playing the same show twice. A new record drops May 2016. The band features members of Great American Taxi, New Riders of the Purple Sage, Todd Snider & more. When playing together in this configuration these guys have a ton of fun, as does the audience. Just try and sit still. Across the canyon we hear drums in the distance. Notes From the underground drift like smoke signals to a strange yet familiar place, where new friends and old come together for good times - the Edge of the West
