Acting for Improvisers with Mike Brunlieb

Mike Brunlieb is a theater & film performer in Chicago. He improvises with Sand, the Improvised Shakespeare Co, and Papa Legba, and performs skits in the Holy Fuck Comedy Hour. Mike has coached and/or taught classes for groups at the Improv Den, iO, CIC, the Playground, Annoyance, and Upstairs Gallery. Mike has had a great time working and teaching at the Crowd, leading an Acting for Improvisers class earlier this year, and is muy emocionado about this one upcoming!

This class will take a group of improvisers and work on honing a very specific skill set: acting. Often times, improvisers are too concerned with being comedians and forget they are actors first. The lens of this class take students through a variety of improvisational exercises, and apply those to scripted work with the goal of developing confidence and integrity on stage, whether that be for improvisation, scripted work, on camera work or otherwise.

This class will meet weekly on Saturdays from 3:30-6:30PM. Due to the holidays, there will be a few off weeks.

There will be a class show on January 24th.
