Queens Dinner Club: Zenon Taverna
Join us at Zenon Taverna on a family-style Cypriot odyssey through 18 different dishes. Owner Stelios Papageorgiou was already a renowned chef when he left Cyprus for Astoria close to 40 years ago. Since 1988 Stelios has provided the tastiest, and most authentic Cypriot dining experience in Astoria. (And that's saying something!)

The ingredients: All of his spices and wines used in his recipes come directly from Cyprus, and
It's a family affair: His wife Dora and 3 daughters Constantina, Elena, and Angela are all involved as in running the restaurant since its start
Cypriot Beer & Wine are on special. Full bar and soft drinks will also be available for sale Zenon. (ALL BEVERAGES ARE CASH ONLY)
Cold Mezes: Kypriaki Salada - Cyprus Salad Romaine lettuce, cucumbers, tomatoes, scallions, cilantro, capers, imported Greek feta cheese and olives. Dressed in extra virgin olive oil and vinegar.
Tzatziki Yogurt & Cucumber dip Greek yogurt and cucumber w/ fresh garlic, mint & a touch of sour cream
Melitzanosalada Eggplant dip Roasted eggplant mashed with onion, parsley, Greek imported feta cheese and caper leaves
Scordalia Garlic dip Mashed potatoes with fresh garlic, extra virgin olive oil and fresh lemon juice. VEGAN
Tahini dip Ground sesame seeds with fresh lemon juice and fresh garlic. VEGAN
Tarama Red Caviar dip Carp roe (caviar) with mashed potatoes, onion, extra virgin olive oil & fresh lemon juice.
Hot Mezes: Lunza Kokalo - Smoked Pork Ribs marinated in red wine, smoked, & rubbed with crushed coriander, sliced and char-grilled.
Halloumi Grilled sheep and goat milk cheese. Tastes best with fresh lemon.
Keftedes Arnisia Lamb Meatballs Garlicky lamb meatballs char-grilled, seasoned with onion, parsley, salt, pepper and oregano.
Loukaniko Spitisio - Cyprus Sausages Home-made with pork marinated in red wine, herbs and sxoinos a specialty Cypriot spice.
Souvlaki Char-grilled pork kebab seasoned with oregano, salt and pepper.
Ortikia - Quails Quails marinated in wine, lemon, oregano and garlic, char-grilled.
Sheftalia - Pork Meatballs Char-grilled pork meatballs seasoned with herbs and spices.
Diganito Kalamari Fried Squid Fresh calamari deep-fried in soy bean oil, seasoned with salt & fresh lemon.
