The Desire for Heritage: An Evening of German & Irish Lore
About the Event: An Evening of German and Irish Lore explores music related to the ancestry of soprano, Jill Morgan Brenner. Featured works will include: The Hermit Songs by Samuel Barber, Elsa's Dream from Richard Wagner's Lohingrin, art songs of Richard Strauss, and John Corigliano's 3 Irish Folk Songs featuring flutist Victoria Hauk. All to be accompanied by the exceptional Paul Dab.
Admission: $15 General $10 Student/Senior $5 Children 12 and under Tickets available online and at the venue box office.
About the Performers: Brenner is known throughout the Bay Area for her sensational and engaging performances. She was recently heard as Ottavia in Monteverdi's L'incorazione di Poppea. Previous seasons include performances as Countess in Le nozze di Figaro, Beth in Little Women, Julie in David Contes Firebird Motel, First Lady in Die Zauberflöte, and as the goddess Athena in the world premiere of Troilus & Achilles by Elliot Encarnación.
Brenner is to be seen in the Bay Area as the soprano soloist for Classical Revolutions performance of Beethovens Symphony No. 9.
