The North Star
In the play, fourteen year old Isaac's world changes when he finds out his parents' marriage isn't what it seems. So he copes in the only way he knows how; with Robitussin, writing songs, talking to the dead and the dream of a better life in rehab. This quirky tragicomedy about divorce and inspiration is Anthony Ellison's latest new play to be presented at Chemically Imbalanced Comedy.
Playing at Chemically Imbalanced Theater (1422 W Irving Park Rd., Chicago), performances will run Thursday through Saturday evenings at 8:00 p.m. through October 13. Tickets are $15 and are available at www.cicomedy.com or by calling box office 800-838-3006.
The cast features Leslie Zang, Martin Monahan, Sean Keith, and Volen Iliev, with Drew Wancket understudying.
Written by CIC Artistic Associate Anthony Ellison, this marks the third script of his produced by Chemically Imbalanced Comedy(Ring Around the Guillotine, Texas Sheen). CIC Artistic Associate Letitia Guillaud directs, following her assistant direction for Ring Around the Guillotine, and Linus Lee assistant directs. The production team features the work of Nick Quinn (Scenic and Lighting Designer), CIC Managing Director Sarah Borer (Production Manager and Props Designer), Carla Hamilton (Costumer Designer), and Tanya Tweedy (Stage Manager).
