Seattle Film Summit

The Seattle Film Summit is a conference for anyone in the state of Washington who has a stake in the production or distribution of media content: filmmakers, actors, video game creators, transmedia geeks, editors, media lawyers, film community leaders, legislators, gaffers, writersanyone and everyone.

It's a place to ask tough questions, like:

* How can we make a living at this?
* How can we create work for everyone?
* How do we get better at the business of film?
* What problems prevent us from realizing our potential?
* What is the future of film and media production in Washington State?

The Seattle Film Summit is not the place to promote the Kickstarter campaign for your latest passion project; it isn't for those who think "making it big" means "moving to Hollywood"; and it is certainly not the place for petty rivalries and competition. The Seattle Film Summit is for people who are ready to roll up their sleeves and get down to the business of film in Washington State.

What makes the Seattle Film Summit different is that we won't just talk about the problems; we will actively lobby for change. The queries, findings and conclusions of the SFS will be compiled into a vivera carta - a living charter - that calls upon community, business, and civic leaders to address the tough questions, seek answers, and effect the change that is needed for professional media production to become a viable business model in our state.
