The Volunteer Park Conservatory Restoration Fund Raiser begins with a reception with wine and appetizers at the Volunteer Park Conservatory from 5:30 - 6:30pm, followed by a leisurely stroll to the Seattle Asian Art Museum (SAAM) Auditorium in Volunteer Park. The lecture begins at 7:00pm.
Dan Hinkley, international plant hunter, Professor of Horticulture, award-winning author, lecturer, and nurseryman has traveled the globe collecting and naming varieties of plants new to the North American nursery trade. The legendary Heronswood Nursery in Kingston, Washington was founded by Hinkley and was known worldwide for its collection of exotic plants.
In addition to his presentations at prestigious venues across the United states including the likes of Cornell University, he appeared and consulted on PBS's NOVA , 'The First Flower' and as a garden consultant and guest on Martha Stewart Television for nearly a decade.
Brown Paper Ticket holders check in at the Conservatory starting at 5:30pm or at the SAAM Auditorium starting at 6:30pm.
