Pierce County Executive's Awards for Excellence in Hip Hop
MUSICA Entertainment is proud to present the 4th annual MUSICA Festival from January 17th - 19th, 2008. This four-day event will honor the legacy of Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. The final night of the festival is The Pierce County Executive's Awards for Excellence in Hip Hop.
The first Pierce County Executives Awards for Excellence in Hip Hop acknowledges and honors innovative performance, community service and entrepreneurial achievement by locally based members of the hip-hop community whose work has had significant impact in Pierce County.
Members of the Pierce County community nominated their favorite performer (solo/group), B-boys/B-girls, visual artist, DJ, MC, media/journalist, publication, promoter, record label, Hip Hop Pioneer or Unsung Hero.
Hip Hop is still a voice for social change. Like Dr. King, Hip Hop is controversial. As a world wide phenomenon Hip Hop serves as an outlet for oppressed people all over the world. Through Hip Hop, we seek to honor the legacy of Dr. King by showcasing a social movement for voices who have the courage to speak out and create awareness to the plight of underserved communities.
Enjoy an evening out with your whole family in a positive, family friendly environment at the prestigious Washington Museum of Natural History. Honor those in your community who are doing wonderful things to promote positivity and honor Dr. King at the same time.
