Getsome Athletics All Ages Training Camp Seattle
This event is open to all roller derby skaters, young and old, that want to improve their skating and roller derby skills! There will be three tracks set up at the enormous Evergreen Events Center, just 30 mins north and east of Seattle.

Coaches include:
Carmen Getsome: Creator and owner of Getsome Athletics Carmen is a coach of I5 Rollergirls 2012, a 7 year veteran of the Rat City Rollergirls Grave Danger and All Star team. Carmen has coached roller derby all over the world from Japan and Australia to North Carolina and Belgium. She is innovative and hardworking so each time you take a class with her she will have new techniques and skills to show you.
Shorty Ounce: Voted Rookie of the Year 2011 for the Rat City Rollergirls. Shorty is an awesome blocker and a fantastic coach! She has coached athletes all over Australia, Canada and the United States. This blocker will teach you to do things with your skates you never thought possible.
Nehi Nightmare: You saw her last year in her inaugural roller derby season kicking ass and taking names! Nehi was voted Rookie of the year for the Rat City Rollergirls 2012 and is a phenomenal jammer on both the flat and banked track!
Kutta Betch: She has skated with the Belligham Roller Betties and spent a year with the Rat City Rollergirls. This athlete is a utility player that knows not only how to block with the best but how to smoke the pack as a jammer.
Coach Vito: Head Coach of Rat City ROllergirls 2011 and 2012 season champions Grave Danger. And 2012 coach of the I5 Rollergirls. Vito is an incredible coach with a vision of roller derby second to none in the sport.
At this camp we will be teaching the following classes as well as many many others:
-lateral movement to evade blockers -3 person force out water falling -utilizing a backwards skating blocker -how to play effective offense -toe stops and their use in a pack -playing defense as a jammer, when and why -Scrum starts, how and why...and how to beat it -revitalizing the pivot line, how to play from the pivot line -tricy-tricky: an hour long class about awesome tricks to use during the game from spin move to pegassists
Training October 27-28, 2012 will be from 9am-4pm both days.
Training will be tons of hard work so remember to bring a water bottle, some snacks and lunch!!!
