Earshot Jazz Presents: Splashgirl
Splashgirl is three creative young norwegian musicians Andreas Stensland Løwe (piano/lofi electronics), Jo Berger Myhre (doublebass/zither/tone generator) and Andreas Lønmo Knudsrød (drums/percussion/sounds), playing their own music inspired by any number of musical genres.
Since its formation in 2003, the band has three highly acclaimed releases - Doors. Keys. (AIM 2007), Arbor (Hubro 2009) and Pressure (Hubro 2011). They have toured in Europe, and collaborated with musicians on both concerts and their recordings.
"Splashgirl's realm is one of subtle nuances, delicate textures, precise rhythmic patterns and, above all, cinematic melodies. One often has to lend an attentive ear to catch the finer details of their music and realise that what originally sounded like a touch of electronic texture is in fact a peculiar friction on strings or wood or the amplified noise made by a bow when used on the edge of a tom."
