Marv and Rindy Ross in Concert with special guest Lincoln Crockett
Arena rockers(and Hall of Famers) shape-shift into singer songwriter mode. As Quarterflash, Marv and Rindy Ross http://quarterflash.net/ built one of the most successful bands to ever come out of Portland, touring with the likes of Elton John, stacking up platinum records and a major studio film soundtrack ("Nightshift"). Since then they've reinvented themselves with The Trail Band http://www.trailband.com/ and now, distilling the fun and intensity of Quarterflash into a powerful acoustic duo, their vocals complimented by Marv's unique guitar tunings and Rindy's trademark sax.
Opening the show is Lincoln Crockett http://www.lincolncrockett.com, one of the finest of the new breed of Portland-based singer-songwriters, and akiller mandolin player. Lincoln's occasional collaborator Chris Kokesh calls his music "A kick in the pants with a hug. Like 'Hey, wake up' and 'I understand, we're all in this together'."
Thursday, October 11, 7:00PM, Secret Society, 116 N.E. Russell St. Tickets: $15 advance through brownpapertickets.com or $20 at the door.
