An Evening of One Acts

The Thugs: Law firms have been known to destroy souls, break up families and turn graduates of elite universities into pale, sleepless and very wealthy lawyers. But they wouldn't kill them, would they? Some dark rumors are being spread by the temps on the gray, undecorated ninth floor in a high-rise office building. Someone on the fourth floor died. Or maybe was killed. Or not. When this group of temps try to discover the secrets that lurk in the hidden crevices of their workplace, they realize they would rather believe in gossip and rumors than face dangerous realities.

Lockdown: Deerborne High School has just been put on lockdown for an unknown reason. All classrooms have been ordered to follow lockdown procedure, which involve shutting off all lights, and huddling students in a corner of the classroom. Tensions ride high as Mr. Karsh and eight students, seven from his creative writing class and the eighth he pulled into the classroom when the lockdown was announced, wait out the lockdown and allow their fear and imaginations to run wild. The play takes on the elements of a psychological thriller as outside elements affect the students and begin to draw out raw emotions and conflicts, as the students address personal issues and bad blood.
