The 2012 O&O Awards Ceremony & Silent Auction takes place on October 11, 2012 (10.11.12 - how could we resist?) at the gorgeous Museum of Contemporary Art (MCASD) in La Jolla, CA.
Orchids & Onions is an awareness and fundraising program of the San Diego Architectural Foundation (SDAF). An independent, 501c3 non-profit organization, SDAF is dedicated to education and the promotion of outstanding architecture, planning and urban design throughout the San Diego region.
Orchids & Onions is the only interactive, community-based program geared towards raising awareness and encouraging practical discourse in response to San Diego's built environment. Public nominations and feedback about the nominations published on the O&O website are integral to planning, growth and future development of our region.A jury of design professionals and artists is selected to determine the official Orchids & Onions based upon public submissions. The online People's Choice Vote gauges San Diegans' opinions about their city. The culmination is an enlightening and fun-filled awards presentation, promoting awareness and practical discourse about the state of our region.
The 2012 O&O Awards Ceremony & Silent Auction begins at 6:00PM with a pre-ceremony gathering of the Who's-Who of San Diego's design world in MCASD's Axline Court (General Admission), Coast Room and Miles Terrace (Members-Only VIP Party); the Coast Room and Miles Terrace VIP Party featuring spectacular views of the Pacific Ocean, enhanced menu and beverage options.

Then, at 8:30, we migrate to Sherwood Auditorium, where we welcome back Sam "The Cooking Guy" Zien as Master of Ceremonies, who will navigate us through the 2012 crop of Orchids & Onions in his own deft and entertaining fashion. Hope to see you there!
