San Francisco Scottish Fiddlers with Alasdair Fraser: 2008 Spring Concert Series, OAKLAND
FRIDAY 4/25. Join the San Francisco Scottish Fiddlers and their director, world-renowned Scottish fiddler Alasdair Fraser, for their 22nd season of Spring Concerts:
April 25 in Oakland, April 26 in Grass Valley and April 27 in Santa Rosa. TICKETS: $22/$17 for Students & Seniors
With singing, dancing and Fraser's inspired solo fiddle playing, it's like a dance party in a concert hall. Fraser and the Fiddlers create musical magic. Fast-paced and family-friendly, the concerts feature more than 100 tartan-clad musicians. The massed ranks of fiddles--joined by cellos, guitars, drums, harps, flutes, basses, piano, bagpipes, and a one-person choir of harmonicas--fill the hall with irresistible rhythm and melody.
Come with us on a musical journey across the world of fiddle music from far Quebec to Cape Breton, and on to Scotland and Scandinavia.
